Lena Larsson Glass Design, Gärde

In the little village of Gärde, 1 km from the E4 highway just North of Lövånger, you will find Lena and Lennart Larsson’s estate which is beautifully elevated with views over Gärdefjärden’s nature reserve. All kinds of migratory birds nest here and cows from neighbouring farms graze in the meadows around the estate. The couple has built a site well worth a visit. This is the first year the newly restored barn is kept open throughout summer.

Detta händer i Ostriket

Lena’s glass studio and boutique in the barn display her personal designs and mouth blown work. She previously managed the “Glashyttan” workshop in Robertsfors, but now only focuses on design, leaving the art of glassblowing to the skilled masters in Småland.

Timber cabins:

Lennart manufactures timber cabins in genuine fashion from natural materials and possesses inventive ideas on local cabin techniques. This summer, visitors will be able to see an exhibition on the art of round timber corner building.

Blackehem:

Lennart’s fishing expertise has passed down through generations, and he is closely associated with Blacke and Blackehamn by Lövånger coast. Old photographs and local history objects will be displayed at an exhibition on the estate this summer.

Fika and play:

A basket containing a selection of “fika”, the celebrated Swedish coffee and cake tradition,  can be picked up from the Glass Boutique and enjoyed anywhere on the estate whilst taking pleasure in sun and views. Children can use the trampoline, cycle about or play football.
