Country week in Robertsfors Borough
It all started as a celebration on the ancient downs of Gumboda, in the mid 1990’s. The Gumboda Downs are an old military training ground that has been in use since the end of the 30 Year War in 1648 until 1897. After a few years with a military theme, the country music soon took over and today the Country celebration is established with artists playing both country and rock music. Dance such as line- and square dance plays an important part as well as children’s entertainment, car exhibitions, pubs etc.
Since a few years back the country celebration has grown to become a country- / countryside week with countryside oriented activities of all sorts in and around the borough. Activities includes a tractor rally, sheep tending, open house at a local farm, scythe harvesting and sharpening, folk parties, horse competitions and shows, flower walks, cheese and wine tasting, story nights etc. The activities supplement the rock and country programmes that are offered night time at Gumboda Downs and other locations. Together they form the Country Week.
Country Week is arranged every year during week 27. For more information please visit www.gumbodahed.se
